Book Orders

I sent home the Scholastic book order today.  The orders are due on Friday, October 17th.  If you would like to order online, please see the link on this website for more information.

Box Tops

We are currently having a box top competition!  The competition goes through Friday, October 17th!  Please remember to bring in all of your box tops (to the 5th grade class, of course) :o)

Picture Retakes

Reminder:  Picture retake day is on Wednesday, October 22nd.

Next week

Updates & Information for Next Week:

The 5th graders worked really hard this week on their ITBS tests!  We still have one test left to take, which will be on Monday.  

We will have a Chapter 2 Social Studies test next week on Thursday.  I will be going over the information that they will be expected to know for the test on Monday.  Also, just a heads up, I will be handing out information on due dates for the Native American tribes either next Friday (the 17th), or early the following week.  Please keep an eye out for that, and re-enforce the importance of sticking to the deadlines.  It gets really overwhelming if students are trying to do too much all at once.  We spend a lot of time gathering information and writing notecards in class, but most of the writing of the paper will be done as homework.  

Our next spelling unit will be Unit 8, and the test will be on Friday.

Just and FYI:

I am out of the building today and tomorrow at a meeting, so the homework website will not be updated for the next 2 days.  Mrs. Bier is subbing for me, so I am sure the 5th graders will enjoying having her as their teacher for the next 2 days!  :o)

Reminders for Next Week

1.  The Steeple Chase is on Sunday.

2. ITBS testing is next week.  Please remember that your fifth grader needs a good night's sleep each night before testing, and needs to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning. This will help them maintain their concentration during all of the testing. 

3.  Monday is a casual day if you are wearing this year's Steeple Chase t-shirt.

4.  There is a unit 7 Spelliing text on Thursday.

5.  There is no school on Friday. 

Steeple Chase

Don't forget about the Steeple Chase on Sunday at Riverside Park!  I am looking forward to seeing you all there!  On Monday, students will be able to wear this year's Steeple Chase t-shirt with jeans.  

Spirit Day!

Tomorrow is a spirit day. Students may wear any St. Mary's colored clothing (including athletic clothing and jeans). Face paint and hair dye is okay to wear too, but it must be applied at home!!  Please let me know if you have any questions! :o)
