Track Meet

This is just a reminder that we have the track meet on Tuesday Afternoon.  Please be sure your 5th grader wears their school uniform to school on Tuesday, but brings their gym uniform and tennis shoes to school with them, so they can change before we leave for the track meet.  We are leaving on the bus at 11:15.  Please email me if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Brewer Game

Just a reminder that we are going to the Brewer game on Thursday.  Please remember that your child will either need to pack a lunch to eat on the bus, or bring money to purchase food at the stadium.  In class we discussed Miller Park rules about carry-in food/beverage items, which can be found at www.milwaukeebrewers.com under the A-Z stadium guide.  We also discussed the information that went home in the newsletter, about what they are supposed to wear.  If you have any additional questions about Thursday, please feel free to contact me!

**If you are picking your 5th grader up at school when we return, I sent an email about how I will be contacting parents about our return arrival time.

I am so excited for the game, and I know the students are as well!!    GO BREWERS!!

Next Week

Next week starts the 3rd trimester!  I can't believe that we only have 1/3 of the year left...it has gone by so fast.  I am already getting a little sad that the year is coming to an end, but I am excited for the nice weather that will be coming with it!

Just a few notes for next week:
1.  There is a Religion test on Tuesday
2.  There is a Science test on Thursday
3.  There is a unit 25 spelling test on Friday.  We were having so much fun in the gym playing games that the colonists played, that I forgot to run off the copy of the spelling list to send home today.  I did post on the spelling list link on this blog, incase anyone wants to get a head start on studying!  The spelling lists are in their mailboxes to be taken home on Monday.
4.  Please continue to bring in pop tabs for our Lent collection.  Our class already has a nice collection started!  These pop tabs will be used to help the Ronald McDonald House!

I hope you all have a great weekend!  :o)

Classroom Supplies

Help!!  We have a shortage of ziplock bags in our classroom!  We are running low on both sandwich sized and gallon sized ziplock bags.  If everyone could donate one box of either size, it would be much appreciated!  Thank you in advance!  :o)

Hola!  I am very happy to by back from my vacation to Mexico.  The weather was beautiful...I tried to bring the weather home with me, but they wouldn't allow it in Wisconsin during February!  :o)  I was very proud of the 5th graders, because I got an excellent report from Mrs. Bier while I was away.

Just a couple of reminders for the week:
Wednesday:  We will be exchanging Valentines in class.  There are 16 total students, so if your child is bringing in Valentines to exchange, please be sure they bring enough for every student.

Wednesday:  Conferences from 4 - 8 pm

Update

Hello, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and stayed safe with all of the snow we got today.  Last week's Catholic School's weeks was a success!  Photos of glow bowling will be posted soon!

Just a couple of updates for the upcoming week:

~I will be gone this week from Monday - Thursday.  This means that the homework page may not be updated.  Please remind your 5th grade to be sure they fill out their assignment notebooks.  Mrs. Bier will be subbing for me, so the 5th graders will be in excellent hands!  If you have any time sensitive information for me, please contact the office, so they can inform Mrs. Bier.  Although, I should have some access to email, so you can still contact me with any updates.

~There is a Social Studies test on Monday, a Language Arts test on Thursday, and a unit 21 spelling test on Friday.  I sent home a spelling list on Friday, but if you need another list, the words are in the spelling practice book, and on the Spelling City app.

~The Battle of the Books school competition is on Tuesday at 8:10 am in the auditorium.  St. Mary's was able to form 5 teams this year, and only 2 teams can move on to the city competition.  You are welcome to come and watch this exciting event...I am very disappointed that I will be missing it!

Have a GREAT week!

Spelling List

I was having an issue updating the spelling lists on the blog each week, but the issue is now fixed.  If you click on the link, then you should find the correct spelling list for the test on Friday.

Native American Projects

The Native American projects that are being displayed in the school library are now able to be taken home.  Many students have larger projects that are hard to carry (without falling apart).  If you are in the building, and would like to take your 5th grader's project from the library, please feel free to do so.
